Susan a Senior Consultant and Director of Go Pensions. She has been in the pensions industry since 1988. Before joining Go Pensions, she was UK Pensions Manager for a major accounting firm. Prior to that, Susan worked for a global investment bank looking after both UK and offshore in-house pension arrangements. She is an Associate member of the Pensions Management Institute. Susan spends her spare time on her powerboat, cruising the Medway and further offshore.

Les has spent over 30 years working for the Revenue, starting in his native Hull before moving to Nottingham, where he has had a number of jobs, all with a compliance focus until his move in 2001 to Audit and Pension Schemes Services and his current role as leader of the Customer Relations and Learning Team. The team aims to work closely with customers to help them understand and get it right first time. Currently of course the focus is on Simplification and helping people understand its impact.
In the real world Les is married with two children and a Nottingham Forest season ticket to support.
Margaret Snowdon, MA (Hons), FPMI, MIoD Director

Margaret Snowdon is a well known figure in the pensions industry, with more than 25 years experience of consulting on pensions strategy to virtually every industry sector.
In her career, Margaret has run large third party administration providers and pensions management consultancies and is an expert on pensions practice, scheme design, governance and project management. She has worked with many well-known UK and multinational companies, helping them to develop and implement HR and Benefits operational strategies. She has helped companies improve performance and compliance through developing people and introducing process and technology change.
Margaret is a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute, a former Member of Council and Vice President of the Institute and is an Executive Director of OPAS, the Pensions Advisory Service, as well as Regional Organiser for London Advisers. She is a Member of the Institute of Directors. She contributes to the Industry through platform speaking and articles and journals on pensions practice. Margaret was instrumental in creating Tolley’s Pensions Administration Manual and was its first Technical Consulting Editor and a specialist author. She has also authored and edited educational materials for students in the industry, and acted as a subject examiner for the PMI for several years.
Prior to setting up her own business, The Pensions Practice Limited, in 2003, Margaret was the European Leader of the HR Delivery Solutions Practice for Towers Perrin. She managed the business to a high level of growth and profitability in a tough consulting environment, while continuing to work directly with clients on consulting projects. Before that she was a partner with Mercer Consulting, one of the worlds largest HR and benefits consulting firms.
Margaret graduated with Honours in Psychology from Glasgow University in 1977, then spent some time on post-graduate research on retirement and ageing with both Glasgow and Keele Universities and the Scottish Retirement Council. She trained as a psychologist and has lectured and counselled on mental health in retirement. She has studied business management at Ashridge, Cranfield and Harvard.
Margaret is married to Mike, a senior private banker and in her spare time enjoys SCUBA diving sailing and clay pigeon shooting.
Chris Stanley

Chris is Managing Director of Go Pensions. He has worked in pensions since 1981 and the substantial part of his career has been in pension’s management. Before establishing Go Pensions in 1997, Chris was UK Pension Manager for a global investment bank with DB, DC and personal pension plans. Before that, he worked in a variety of pensions management roles. Throughout his career, Chris has had a particular interest in optimising the use of IT systems and processes. He is an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute. Chris is an avid campanologist and cyclist - though not at the same time. He has also been known to savour the odd fine wine.
Jon Thorne
The Pensions Regulator
Jon Thorne is part of the Strategy Formulation team at the Pensions Regulator and has been taking forward work on pension scheme governance and on guidance to trustees in managing conflicts of interest. A Chartered Accountant by training with wide experience in practice and in commerce, Jon has recently joined the Regulator on secondment from the Charity Commission.
